Amanda Spann is a Ghanian born, Chicago-based marketing consultant & app entrepreneur. Sitting at the intersection of product and promotion, she helps brands take their ideas from concept to creation and then build a buzz around them. Amanda launched tiphub in 2014 to support technology and social enterprise-led innovation in African markets. For tiphub, purpose and profit walk hand in hand. Providing its clients with funding, mentors, business training, consulting services, and an accelerator program, the business aims to increase the number of socially-driven investments in Africa. Taking a ‘community first’ approach, Spann is ensuring that venture capital funds are being made available to business owners in remote areas. With advancements in technology allowing companies to easily operate from different cities to their clients or customers, in addition to the issue of costly shared resources like the internet and office utilities, tiphub believes that the future for startups isn’t city-based.

Amanda also served as CMO of Blerdology, a tech social enterprise to support and engage the black tech community and the first organization to host hackathons targeting African-Americans. The company helped to spark interest innovation and assisted minority entrepreneurs build their apps or web-based ventures for little to no cost. The Florida State and Georgetown grad has been honored as one of Business Insider’s 30 Most Important Women In Tech Under 30, BET’s Blacks on the Brink of Greatness, and as one of 5 future leaders in technology by Black Enterprise Magazine.
