Wydad won the CAF Champions League by defeating Al Ahly of Egypt 2-1 in the final while Mazembe lifted the second-tier CAF Confederation Cup by a similar aggregate score over SuperSport United of South Africa.
Mazembe have featured in four Super Cup matches, winning three, while Wydad are seeking a first success in the competition after two losses.
Wydad dethroned then title-holders Mazembe in a 2016 CAF Champions League qualifier with the Moroccans building a 2-0 first-leg lead in Casablanca and drawing 1-1 in Lubumbashi.
Mazembe are the second most successful club in CAF competitions with 11 titles eight less than Al Ahly while Wydad have triumphed three times.
