Nigerian author, Chimamanda Adichie, was the guest of South African comedian, Trevor Noah, on his Thursday television show. While on the show, Adichie reiterated her stance on feminism by saying, “Men have to be on board. You can change women all you want if you don’t change men, nothing changes, because we share the world. “And, unfortunately, we live in a world where men are more likely to listen to another man.”

She went on to mention men like Barack Obama, whom she called a good role model for how men can fight the cause of feminism. More controversially, the author said, she was against men holding the door for women only because they are women. Her views have been met with mixed reactions from Twitter users.
