A London-based organization, World Economics has claimed that Nigeria’s economy has exited recession. The report by the organization has been criticized by Nigerians with many of them saying economic conditions remain difficult for businesses and Nigerians to survive.
Some residents of Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital say they cannot feel any sign that Nigeria’s economy has come out of recession.
On his part, a professor of Economics at the University of Port Harcourt, Okey Onuchukwu says report that Nigeria’s economy has come out of recession has no positive impact on ordinary Nigerians.
He said Nigerians can feel that the country is out of recession when there are employment opportunities, availability of goods at affordable prices and reduction in poverty level.
Responding to the report, Nigerians want the Federal government to make policies that will improve the standard of living of Nigerians.
