The “Stratolaunch” is officially the largest aircraft in the aviation industry. The plane was unveiled by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen after the aircraft made its first ever public appearance.
It was moved out of its hangar for “aircraft fuelling tests” according to Stratolaunch Systems, putting an end to its construction and paving the way for ground flights. The “Stratolaunch” has a wingspan of 385 feet (longer than a football field),weighs up to 580 tons and has six jet engines.
The plane however is not designed to carry passengers but rather would be used to launch rockets into space from the air.
The aircraft is expected to make its first launch as early as 2019.
