Some governors elected on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform have paid a visit to Zamfara to express their condolences to the state’s government and people following the fire outbreak at the Tudun Wada Central Market.
Atiku Bagudu, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, led two of his colleagues, Mai-Mala Buni, the APC Caretaker Committee Chairman and Governor of Yobe State, and Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State, to express their condolences to Governor Bello Matawalle on Monday at the Government House in Gusau, the state capital.

Governor Bagudu informed their host that they were on their way to Zamfara, where the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the ruling party.
He bemoaned the fact that the tragic incident at Tudun-Wada Market had harmed the victims’ livelihoods as well as the state’s business activities.
This, according to the governor, influenced the APC governors’ decision to express their concern and sympathy for the victims.
He praised and thanked Governor Matawalle for his efforts in restoring peace in the state, and he announced that the APC governors have agreed to donate N50 million to the victims of the inferno.
Despite their political differences, Governor Matawalle praised the governors for traveling by road to express their brotherhood and love.
He was especially grateful for the gesture, which he said his PDP colleagues had not made, and promised that it would be returned.
