American rapper and mother of one Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, popularly known as Cardi B, is set to divorce her husband and one of Migos trio Offset.
The news of Cardi B filing for divorce from Kiari Cephus, Offset, was first broken by TMZ in the late hours of Tuesday evening.
The duo have been married for three years after they secretly got married in 2017. and have a two-year-old named Kulture.
The New York rapper had described their marriage as “irretrievably broken.”
Court records obtained by the PA news agency show that Cardi B is asking for “primary physical custody” of the child, and wants Offset to contribute for “support and maintenance.”
The 27-year old rapper had filed for divorce on Tuesday in her husband’s home state of Georgia, where the couple has been living.
Legal documents state that Cardi B and Offset are currently living in a “bona fide state of separation.”
There are “no prospects for a reconciliation,” they said. The divorce filed also asks for the couple’s assets to be split evenly.

December 2018, amid rumours of his cheating.
After apologising on Instagram for being being a “selfish, messed-up husband”, Offset asked for forgiveness on-stage in front of a crowd at her Rolling Loud concert, where he pulled out a sign made of roses that read: “Take me back Cardi.”
