Following the death of a Lagos Chef, Mrs Peju Ugboma, the family of the deceased has accused Premier Specialist Medical Centre, Lekki, of unprofessional conduct resulting in her untimely demise.
In a statement signed by Ijoma Ugboma, husband to the deceased, the family resolved to retain Olisa Agbakoba Legal as the Lead Counsel and Primera Africa Legal to help with all legal issues and representation.
Mr Ugboma while condemning the ineptitude amongst the hospital personnel, sought for justice for the avoidable death of his wife and also called for healthcare reforms in the country.
He accused the hospital of watching his wife’s health deteriorate without any communication with the family.
Lead Counsel to the family, Olisa Agbakoba SAN, also gave a background story of the incidence and stated that legal steps have been taken so far on the matter.
Friends of the deceased also sympathised with family and lamented the alleged gross misconduct from hospital. They expressed their grief after the traumatic loss of Peju
Mrs Ugboma died on the 25th of April 2021 after she was scheduled for an elective surgery following a fibroid issue three days earlier as advised by doctors at Premier Specialist Medical Centre.
