Farmers Call For Probe Into Murder Allegations


The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has being asked to order a probe into the detention of a farmer Adebayo Ajitena who was alleged to have killed one of his workers, Saka Afolabi on the 28 of March, 2017.

Some farmers and Wife of the accused Christiana Ajitena during a protest to the Nigerian Union of Journalists office in Benin claimed the farmer never killed Afolabi but was only framed up.

Meanwhile Edo state NUJ secretary Alemma-Ozioruva Aliu appealed to the protesters to make their demand in a non-violent manner.

Correspondent Gbenga Olowokere reports that Adebayo Ajitena, has being charged to court and remanded in Oko medium prison since on the 4th of April for allegedly killing Saka Afolabi.
