Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has allowed the recruitment of more medical doctors in state hospitals.
On Wednesday, Governor Zulum released an order for the recruiting of 40 medical doctors, in addition to his previous approvals, to address the health needs of the growing population of the State.
The approval was issued at a meeting with the Chief Executive Officers of seven public hospitals and associated institutions based in the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council and the Jere Local Government District.
The Governor was in charge of the Specialty Hospital, Maiduguri, where he directed the creation of an additional ward to counter overcrowding.
