Criminal elements are pretending to be hiring invigilators on behalf of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for the 2021 UTME/DE, according to JAMB.
The scammers are demanding a N5,000 approval fee payable to the syndicate, according to Fabian Benjamin, Head of Public Affairs.
The word “invigilator” is not used by the Board, and the spokesperson warned the public to be cautious of those claiming there are positions to be filled.
JAMB stated that the appointment process for permanent or ad-hoc personnel must be publicized and conducted in a straightforward manner.
Benjamin cautioned Nigerians against squandering their hard-earned money in the hope of getting employment with the inspection body that do not exist.
“Many dubious individuals have cultivated the habit of placing different kinds of advertorials for one service or another in the name of the Board without authorization”, he added.
The statement urged anyone with knowledge about the fraudsters to contact law enforcement.
