The Senate says its position on the role of the upper chamber in the legislative recall process remains unchanged.
Senators criticized Kogi state government for its alleged role in the recall process against Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West at the Red Chamber.
The President of the Senate Bukola Saraki was reacting to a point of order raised by his deputy Ike Ekwerenmadu on a three paged advertorial on National dailies from the office of the Kogi state Attorney General.
Correspondent Adeoye Olalekan reports that Ekwerenmadu insisted the recall process must pass through the Senate for approval after INEC must have concluded its process.
The President of the Senate Bukola Saraki said it was unfortunate for the state government to spend over 12 million Naira on adverts in response to the contribution of a lawmaker.
Saraki says the response from the state government, the energy and funding invested in the process shows that it is behind the recall process.
