Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, the Commissioner for Transportation, says the 24-hour closure would allow contractors to fully move the equipment used during the rehabilitation process off the bridge to allow both the Oworonshoki and Adeniji bound lanes to fully open up to traffic.
He explained that it was necessary for the closure to complete the replacement of the 12 extension joints and to demobilise the bridge superstructure.
Oladeinde urged the use of alternative routes by motorists.
