Known for its life-sized celebrity wickless candles, wax museum, Madame Tussauds has caused a social media ruckus after its reveal of a new wax figure claiming to portray Beyonce.
In a since deleted tweet, the New York branch of the highly-popular wax museum boasted the figure of Queen Bey had arrived and would go on show until September.
Not only have fans pointed out that the wax figure looks nothing like the star, the museum has also been accused of “whitewashing” the lemonade singer.
The museum addressed comments made on the wax figure as thus:
“Our talented team of sculptors take every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted
“Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the color of our wax figures.”
Some fans took to twitter to voice their disappointment after the reveal;
Why does this Beyoncé wax figure look like Lindsay Lohan if she were an Instagram model pic.twitter.com/K1wjhiy26E

This is not the first time a wax museum has got it wrong when it comes to a likeness of the Lemonade artist.
