The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has released another 796 people who tested negative for COVID-19 after treatment.
On Saturday night, the NCDC announced this via Twitter, adding that total recoveries in the United States had increased to 156,250 in the previous 24 hours, with active cases at 7,823.
According to the NCDC, “our discharges today include a backlog of 795 community recoveries in Adamawa managed in accordance with guidelines.”
In three states, however, 30 new COVID-19 infections were reported, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 165,370.
Lagos had 21, Adamawa had eight, and Rivers had one of the 30 new infections recorded, according to the health agency.
According to NCDC, no new death was recorded from the disease which had already claimed 2,065 lives nationwide.
The number of deaths recorded from COVID-19 had declined recently with only four deaths recorded in the past three weeks.
Since the pandemic broke out in February 2020, Nigeria has carried out 1,939,165 tests across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
