The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Dr. Dakuku Peterside has said that the Agency will ensure that Nigerians benefit from shipping.
He also said that Nigeria’s maritime domain will be safe, secured and clean for all to do business. The DG said this at the opening of the 3 day National Maritime Policy workshop in Lagos.
The workshop was a partnership between the International Maritime Organisation, IMO and NIMASA.
Major stakeholders in the Maritime Transport Industry as well as the executive and legislative arms of government are meeting to rub minds on how to map out strategies for improving the maritime industry in Nigeria.
The NIMASA boss assured that the Agency will continue in its quest to improve on the ease of doing business in the Nigerian maritime domain, and assured investors in the Nigerian maritime of the safety of their investment.
