The NNPC has said Nigerian should expect a boost in electricity production as there has been an improvement in gas supply.
This was disclosed at the monthly financial and operations report of the NNPC which was held in Abuja yesterday.
The report stated that the average daily production of gas nationally stands at 226.918 billion cubic feet (bcf) which translates to over 7.319 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (mmscfd), which has being revealed to be sufficient to ensure steady power supply.
Pipeline sabotage in the country took a very high increase as it increased from 49 pipelines vandalized points from February 2017 to 94 in March 2017. This represents a 91 percent increase despite the federal government and NNPC’s continuous engagement.
Also, in the downstream sector, the report shows the NNPC has in stock inland supply of over 1.2 billion litres of petrol sufficient for more than 34 days forward consumption.
