The crisis in the All Progressives Congress, APC Ogun State Chapter took a new twist as former Governor Segun Osoba’s loyalists dismissed the APC State Caretaker Committee list.
The Osoba loyalists say that the faction loyal to Dapo Abiodun’s government tampered with the APC harmonized committee list in Ogun triggering the crisis.
In December 2019, the Osoba Loyalists clashed with Gov Abiodun over his list of candidates for commissioner, accusing him of sidelining them.
The governor does not seem to have done anything to pacify the aggrieved party supporters, who said they were serving as the Gateway State’s number one indigenous for his emergence.

Abiodun is faithful to the Ogun APC caretaker committee, headed by Yemi Sanusi.
But, the Osoba loyalists in a statement jointly signed by 40 of their leaders in Abeokuta, accused the Sanusi-led committee of “unjustly upturning the collective decision of the majority”.
The state working committee of the party had requested, according to them, that all local councils should have party executives in place.
As a consequence, it has been said that all municipal councils have forwarded their list of administrators.
The Osoba loyalists, while saying that the Ogun APC has been factional, said that numerous lists were submitted, including that of Abeokuta South.
“For this reason, Ogun State APC Executive Committee set up a harmonisation committee to resolve all the differences,” a source said.
The party, however, said that they were shocked to find that the lists of harmonisation were tampered with.
They stated that the names sent had been substituted, adding that certain names not included in the harmonized list had been smuggled-in.
This is intolerable, they added, and grossly unconstitutional.
In the meantime, the APC Secretary of the Publicity Committee, Tunde Oladunjoye, told the aggrieved party members that the matter would be investigated.
