The governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has debunked rumors of his intentions to join the 2023 presidential election.
Ortom said that his concern at the moment is to provide the people of Benue State with good governance.
In a statement made on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, the Governor said he had no intention of entering the 2023 presidential race.
Furthermore, Ortom announced that he only has two and a half years to finish his tenure as Governor and is committed to representing the state more efficiently.
“I appreciate my supporters and interest groups who have taken to social media to call on me to join the 2023 Presidential race.”
“However, I still have two and half years to complete my mandate as Governor and I am committed to greater service of the State.”
“I also thank Benue people for the support given to my administration to succeed,” he said.
