The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, VC, of Plateau State University, Bokkos, PLASU, Dr. Jurji Gomos, has regained freedom after being kidnapped on Friday.
The kidnappers had attacked his home, forcefully grabbed and taken him to their hideout.
Gomos was held in captivity for about 20 hours.
The release of Jurji Gomos was confirmed by the PLASU VC, Prof. Yohana Izam.
“This followed spirited efforts by the Management and Staff of the University, security agencies, family and associates of Dr. Gomos,” he said in an interview with The Nation.
The PLASU Public Relations Officer John Agam, in a statement, thanked the state government for its solidarity towards securing the release of the Deputy VC.
