The Nasarawa State Police Command in has confirmed the abduction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) state chairman, Philip Shekwo.
The abduction of the APC Nasarawa State Chairman occurred on Saturday.
The Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, spoke to newsmen on Sunday in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.
He further disclosed that the politician was seized from his residence in Bukan-Sidi, Lafia, around 11 pm.
Longe also assured that operatives had been deployed to search various forests and flashpoints to ensure the APC chieftain’s rescue.
The party remains divided in the state.
Factions led by former Governor Abdulaziz Yari and former Senator Kabir Marafa are battling for control.
