The posting of Ambassadors-Designates to Nigerian Missions abroad was authorised by President Muhammadu Buhari.
This development was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via its Permanent Secretary, Amb. Gabriel Aduda, on Tuesday.
43 Career Ambassadors and 52 Non-career Ambassadors are included in the list.
“The process of requesting an agreement from the prospective host countries has started with this development,” Dauda said in a statement.
“The Ministry also wishes to inform the Ambassadors-Designates and their spouses that there will be an induction course to prepare and facilitate the movement of the Envoys to their respective missions on a date to be announced shortly.”
The President wrote to the Senate on May 12 and July 1, 2020, requesting the confirmation of 42 career ambassadors and 41 named non-career ambassadors.
While the Red Chamber confirmed the career ambassadors on June 12, 2020, on July 22, 2020, it cleared their non-career colleagues.
