The senate in a session unanimously agreed that Nigeria’s unity remains Indivisible regardless of whatever regional or ethic forces were agitating for such in the country.
In a motion sponsored on the floor of the senate, all the senators were very clear that there were multiple opportunities made available for diverse interest groups.
Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu said that the challenges facing the country were those of centrifugal forces and there were calls for self determination, ethnic and religious tolerance.
The senators urged the various agitators to concentrate on integration policies and programmes which have yielded results in the past.
Senator Adamu Aliero in his contribution said the national conference in 2014 which was put together by former President, Goodluck Jonathan has the answers to those challenges and urged the federal government to look into the report.
The upper chamber reiterated that Nigerians should desist from actions and utterances that could destroy the unity of the country.
