Senator Mark Warner the leading democrat on the senate intelligence committee has called former FBI director James Comey testimony “Disturbing”.
Warner emphasised on the early interaction Trump had with Comey were the president told Comey “I need loyalty, I expect loyalty”. Warner argued the instance appears to be Trump threatening Coney’s job.
Another private discussion disclosed by Comey was where the president pushed him to drop the investigation into former national security advisor Micheal Flynn.
The actions as well as a list of others stated in Comey’s testimony are violations of clear guidelines put in place after watergate to prevent any form of interference by the White house into FBI investigations.
Warner suggested from his remarks that the Democrats will use Comey’s hearing to look broadly into Trump’s presidency.
Warner said Trump was not behaving like the President of the United States of America.
