States Receive Another Portion Of Paris Club Refunds

The Ministry of Finance has confirmed that another trance of Paris club refunds have been paid to states.

Governor Ayo Fayose’s Media Adviser, Lere Olayinka, confirmed Ekiti’s receipt of the second tranche of N4.772billion as it received N9.5billion in the first tranche.

commissioner for Finance, Obinna Oriaku, confirmed that Abia had been paid N5.715billion in the second tranche as it received N11.4billion in the first tranche.

The total amount paid out by the Ministry of Finance has yet to be officially confirmed as officials are waiting for clearance from Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.

The Ministry of Finance spokesman, Salisu Dambatta, in a statement after the release of the cash, said: “The debt service deductions are in respect of the Paris Club, London Club and Multilateral debts of the Federal Government and states.”
