President Donald Trump has arrived in Paris, France ahead of the country’s national day on Friday.
President Trump who was accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, stepped onto French soil for the first time as the President of the United States.
Trump will be the guest of honour at the festivities marking a pivotal point in the French Revolution.
Trump and French president, Emmanuel Macron will watch troops parade down the Champs-Elysees and mark 100 years since America entered World War I on France’s side.
The president is expected to make a visit to Napoleon’s tomb after which he would be treated to dinner at the Eiffel Tower.
Talks between the two leaders are expected to focus on joint efforts to combat the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria, where American and French troops are in action side-by-side.
Another key talk amongst the two leaders would be the Paris climate accord in which Donald Trump withdrew the United states from.
