The United States of America (US) has added new metal sanctions against Iran.
The US has banned 22 more materials connected to Iran’s nuclear military ballistic missile programs. This announcement was made by the US Secretary of State Micheal Pompeo.
Pompeo noted that Iran’s programmes were a notable threat to international security.
Pompeo also warned companies and individuals in the US and Iran against the sale of such identified materials. Pompeo had said, “those who knowingly transfer such materials to Iran are now sanctionable pursuant to Section 1245 of the Iranian Freedom and Counter-Proliferation Act.”
The banned metals under this Act include different alloys of aluminium, copper, steel and aluminium powder with purity above 98 per cent.
