The US Treasury has sanctioned four Ukrainians who helped President Donald Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, in an election campaign attempt to slander Democrat Joe Biden.
They are Konstantin Kulyk, Oleksandr Onyshchenko, Andriy Telizhenko, former Ukrainian government officials, and current Ukrainian lawmaker Oleksandr Dubinsky.
The Treasury said they were named part of a “Russian agent” Andrii Derkach’s attempt to sabotage the presidential run of Biden.
In late 2019, all four were in touch with or met with Giuliani as he tried to gather proof that President-elect Biden and his son Hunter were now involved in Ukrainian corruption.

The effort was made just as Trump himself was facing impeachment over his own allegedly unethical use of political leverage on the government of Ukraine to supply the Bidens with dirt.
The four “coordinated dissemination and promotion of fraudulent and unsubstantiated allegations involving a US political candidate,” the Treasury said, collaborating with already-sanctioned Derkach.
