Governor Mai Mala Buni has inaugurated APC stakeholder committees to organize the party’s activities in the 17 victory council areas before the proposed local government (LG) election in Yobe State.
The Governor, served by Deputy Idi Barde Gubana, clarified that the Party is currently focusing on improving the accomplishments of APC in the state by maintaining internal democracy and solidarity among all its members.
According to Buni, the APC crucial stakeholder committees in each of the local governments are to promote, among other items, the emergence of councilor candidates by consultation, reconciliation and consensus or ensure the conduct of a free, fair and open primary election.
He added that the committees are to also “screen the chairmanship aspirants and submit three names to the Central Election Committee for consideration.”
“To ensure that all councillorship candidates emerged at the ward levels by the choice of the ward stakeholders or executives to avoid external imposition or interferences.”
Gov Buni noted that the local government (LG) APC stakeholder committees should advise the party on the issues that will facilitate the growth of the local government region and the state in general.
The Governor encouraged the members of the committees to make sure that they do their best for the success of the party in carrying out this crucial mission.
